Job summary

AFL is seeking a Low Voltage Technician III to lead the installation, testing, commissioning and documentation of structured cabling and telecom systems. This working lead will provide on‑site leadership, technical expertise, and direct customer interaction to ensure safe, efficient and compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience installing and maintaining telecommunications and low‑voltage infrastructure.
• Copper termination to quality standards is required.
• Strong understanding of cabling categories, pathways, room standards and testing requirements.
• Proficient with professional cable and fiber testing tools; analyze results and implement corrective action.
• Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient using a computer/tablet/phone to report, email and access project portals.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting to minimize downtime and resolve field issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, termination, labeling and testing of copper cabling.
• Perform copper certification; download, analyze, archive and deliver test results and as‑built docs.
• Plan and manage material usage, storage and inventory to support timelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe jobsite per EHS policies.
• Provide regular project status updates to the Project Manager and elevate risks as needed.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and crews to meet scope, schedule and quality.
• Serve as primary on‑site customer contact for installation activities and field coordination.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Obtain customer project acceptance upon completion.
