Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. seeks a Lead, Systems Engineering to own Link 22 architecture, data flows, and hardware/software integration for airborne and maritime platforms. You will lead design, integration, and test efforts across multi‑domain networks and ensure compliance with NATO standards.

The role requires expert Link 22 knowledge, active clearance, and experience with multi‑node datalink configurations. Remote U.S. work options available under the 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

• Active US Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology with 9+ years relevant experience (Software Engineer also considered).
• Graduate degree with 7+ years related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 13 years of related experience.
• Ability to translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear, testable system requirements.
• Experience creating tactical datalink (TDL) scenarios for software development and testing.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Hands-on experience integrating and configuring Link 22 data link systems.
• Knowledge of Link 22 network architecture, NPG design, time slot assignment, STANAG 5522 standards.
• Hands-on experience with Link 22 hardware/software (CW & L-DRS).
• Experience architecting Link 22 data flows in multi-node environments.
• NILE Link 22 testing for NATO weapon systems.
• Experience with NILE PMO and NILE GOTS hardware/software.
• Experience with SDR/V/UHF radios.
• Security+ certification strongly preferred.
• Experience exporting Link 22 configurations across platforms.
• Flight test ability and flight physical.
• Familiarity with Link 22 software updates and version control.
• Interoperability with Link 16 and other tactical links.
• Familiarity with Leonardo DRS and Curtiss-Wright products in TDL architectures.
• Experience with subcontractors and foreign customers.
• Multi-national interoperability testing familiarity.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Hands-on testing/integration/verification of hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Link 22 SME, with knowledge of architecture, message standards, network design, and configuration options.
• Integrate and configure Link 22 for airborne and maritime platforms.
• Architect and design Link 22 data flows across multi-node networks.
• Develop, manage, and maintain exportable Link 22 configurations.
• Integrate Link 22 hardware/software components (SNC, SPC, LLC).
• Design physical architectures with Link 22 alongside other data links.
• Design, integrate, and test wideband and narrowband links for Link 22 operations.
• Translate customer requests into system requirements and ensure traceability.
• Write subsystem specs and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Review wiring diagrams to trace to requirements.
• Develop test procedures for MIL-STD and STANAG compliance.
• Plan interoperability testing in labs and multi-national events.
• Prepare presentations on Link 22 architecture for government customers.
• Develop test plans for software and system integration.
• Create simulation-based integration/verification scenarios.
• Work in an Agile engineering environment.
