Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced loads engineer to join our team working on the New Glenn program. You will lead Coupled Loads Analysis efforts, build and validate FE models, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure accurate inputs and outputs for vehicle development and testing.

The role requires extensive experience in aerospace structural loads, proficiency with NASTRAN and MATLAB, and the ability to solve complex static and dynamic problems using physics-based methods. U.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Passion for aerospace vehicle structural loads and related analysis.
  • Finite Element Modeling experience.
  • NASTRAN and MATLAB proficiency.
  • Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods.
  • Ability to process and present data for engineering applications.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to an inclusive culture.
  • U.S. citizenship or eligible work status in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Launch vehicle CLA development and execution with cross-discipline collaboration.
  • Document and communicate CLA results for customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop/refine FE models, validate against modal tests.
  • Reduce FE models using Component Modal Synthesis methods (e.g., Craig-Bampton).
  • Develop general loads for launch vehicles and ground systems.
  • Develop mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
  • Handle large datasets: reduction and post-processing for engineering applications.
  • Tackle additional low/high frequency loads tasks as needed.
