Job summary

AFICS, Inc. (American Family Insurance Claims Services) seeks an experienced lead-level field property claims adjuster in Washington. This role handles highly complex homeowner claims, travels up to 50% (75% for catastrophe events), and reports to a Large Loss Senior Manager.

A fleet vehicle is provided and relocation support is offered. You will work in the field, inspect sites, determine liability, negotiate settlements, and mentor less experienced adjusters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Demonstrated ability to handle 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims and coordinates with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and other parties.
• Participates in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage questions and exposure.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates with insureds and attorneys.
• Interprets policy coverages and applies them to assigned losses; provides progress updates to all parties.
