Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer General Foreman to organize and direct craft teams based on project schedules, including preparation and supply of materials for other crafts. You will read blueprints, supervise foremen and crews, and enforce safety policies on site.

The role emphasizes leadership, problem solving, and effective communication with diverse teams while ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets on construction projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
• Previous experience working with tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to determine work method from alternatives; work under broad assignments; follow established procedures and instructions; work with minimal supervision.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
• Duties may change without notice.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft workers.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel.
• Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Maintain time records.
• May make cost estimates for contracts; plan work and solve problems; may operate machinery.
• Provide leadership to other team members and apprentices by displaying resourcefulness and strong work habits.
