Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a General Foreman to plan, organize, and direct foremen and craft teams according to project schedules and safety standards. The role emphasizes supervising crews, reading blueprints, interpreting job orders, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures while coordinating resources and maintaining documentation.

The candidate should have a minimum of five years of related experience, strong teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five years related experience.
• Ability to determine work method from alternatives and follow detailed procedures.
• Strong communication and openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with/without assistance as described.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft workers.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Enforce safety regulations and company policies.
• Plan work sequences to meet construction schedules and allocate equipment and personnel.
• Analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion.
• Resolve work problems and maintain time records.
• Make cost estimates for contracts.
• Lead by example and provide coaching and feedback.
• Develop relationships with diverse teams across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
