Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer General Foreman to organize and direct craft team members on the project schedule, including preparation, handling, and supplying materials.

You will read blueprints and schematics, supervise foremen and crews, interpret specifications, enforce safety regulations, and optimize work sequences while mentoring apprentices and collaborating with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Experience with tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft workers.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Enforce safety regulations.
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules.
• Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Maintain time records.
• May make cost estimates for contracts; use logical step-by-step procedures in work; plan work and solve problems; make decisions based on measurable information; may operate machinery.
• Provide leadership to other team members and apprentices.
• Lead team members by example and coach/feedback.
• All other duties as assigned.
