Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Process Engineer to own all aspects of mold sampling and qualification for new or rebuilt tools, and to optimize the molding process to meet dimensional limits within the designed cycle time. You will create standard Master Process Sheets and participate in design reviews while liaising with plant technical teams to support startups and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and negotiate.
• Ability to manage multiple resources; strong leadership capabilities.
• Technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Minimum 5 years' processing experience in plastics packaging.
• Experience with SPC is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Mold samplings and qualification on new, replacement or rebuilt tools.
• Optimize molding process to meet dimensional limits within cycle time.
• Create and maintain Master Process Sheets for injection or blow molding.
• Attend project meetings, design reviews and tool specification meetings.
• Train plant personnel in technical areas including machine processing and tool changes.
• Provide manufacturing support to solve production issues.
• Support plants with equipment, process and tooling qualifications.
• Establish data resources related to packaging, machinery and processes.
• Lead in-house training on tooling maintenance.
• Act as liaison between Operations and Customer for system requirements.
• Travel 50% to 75% may be required.
