Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Salem, Oregon is seeking a Lead Engineer to advance our Continuous Improvement culture. You will identify, lead, and deliver data-driven CI projects across operations, driving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth through Lean methods and analytics.

The role interfaces with all levels, may supervise CI staff, and partners with the CI Manager and site leadership to execute Kaizen events, value stream maps, and sustainment of improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree with years of related experience in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Proven experience in CI, Lean, and data-driven problem solving.
• Strong communication and leadership across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact CI projects across the operation to deliver tangible improvements.
• Coach teams in Lean methods and CI tools; facilitate Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping.
• Develop, track, and report on progress toward site objectives and metrics.
• Supervise CI engineering and quality professionals as needed.
• Support start-ups, retrofits, and expansions with pricing inputs and go-live activities.
