Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior HVAC engineer for a hybrid role based in Wilmington, DE. You will design and optimize HVAC systems for commercial, laboratory, and industrial facilities, lead design calculations, and prepare detailed specifications.

The position requires extensive experience and collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers. The role emphasizes staying current with ASHRAE standards and industry codes, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating multi-disciplinary

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ten+ years of relevant HVAC system and chilled water design experience for commercial, labs, industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in TRACE 700 or 3D+ program, AutoCAD and Microstation; ability to create P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC system concepts for commercial, laboratory, and industrial facilities.
• Perform design calculations and develop detailed system design and specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, clients and suppliers to ensure timely design delivery.
• Assist senior engineers with reviews of existing facilities and propose upgrades.
• Ensure familiarity with ASHRAE standards and industry codes.
