Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Florida is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Engineer to design and troubleshoot systems for laboratory and industrial facilities. The role includes developing integrated ventilation, chilled water, heating designs, and producing P&IDs while collaborating with project managers and clients.

This hybrid position requires an ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering, 1+ year experience, and proficiency with TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.
1+ year HVAC system, ventilation, heating and chilled water design experience for labs/industrial facilities.
Proficiency in TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.
Ability to create design flow diagrams and P&IDs.
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards for HVAC/ventilation.

Responsibilities

Design HVAC systems and troubleshoot a wide range of issues for laboratories and facilities.
Develop integrated systems including commercial/industrial ventilation and chilled water design.
Plan and coordinate detailed design phases of facility engineering work.
Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment.
Prepare engineering studies and support senior engineers and project managers.
Review existing facilities for upgrades and present findings to clients.
Maintain familiarity with ASHRAE and current HVAC codes and standards.
