Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Chicago is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the cleanliness of guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and public areas while maintaining a positive, communicative atmosphere with guests and staff. You will manage inspections, report conditions, and ensure high hotel standards end-to-end.

The role requires a High School Diploma (preferred), 1 year of customer service experience, and prior housekeeping supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in customer service or similar role.
• Housekeeping supervisory or related job experience is preferred.
• Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, holidays and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inspection report with the status of all guest rooms at the beginning of the shift.
• Inspect all guest check-out rooms for cleanliness, amenities, and working condition of room equipment.
• Report any substandard conditions or damage of the guest room to the Housekeeping department.
• Evaluate room cleaners on their job performance according to the hotel standards and take appropriate action if needed.
• Notify Front Desk of all vacant and clean rooms, completed requests, and status discrepancies.
• Answer the department telephone with friendly etiquette.
• Assist guests with special requests, information, and Lost & Found items.
• Check the hotel's PMS for room status and update as needed.
• Collect, log, and secure Lost & Found items; manage cleaners' assignment sheets and keys.
• Confirm the next day's work schedule with room cleaners.
• Complete written reports of all room statuses and file daily reports.
