Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to manage the construction of multiple homes from permit to closing, coordinating subcontractors, inspections, and customer walkthroughs.

You will ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while maintaining code compliance and a positive homeowner experience. Responsibilities include scheduling trades, verifying workmanship, managing budgets, and communicating progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive between communities.
• Knowledge of municipal permitting and building codes.
• Proficient with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction schedule to deliver quality homes on time and within budget.
• Schedule subcontractors for all construction phases and ensure workmanship meets plans and code.
• Complete homes from planning to occupancy and satisfy contract obligations.
• Inspect subcontractor work and halt noncompliant activities.
• Authorize payments to subcontractors after inspections and approvals.
• Oversee customer experience and maintain clear communication with homeowners.
• Monitor site cleanliness and overall appearance of community during construction.
• Oversee post-close warranty process and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes and DRH Construction applications.
