Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA seeks a Lead Histotechnologist to lead histology operations within a high-complexity lab. The role stresses SOP adherence, quality control, and resource management while serving as a technical resource for staff and residents.

The incumbent will guide workflow, train personnel, and represent the lab on committees. Night shift, full-time hours, and competitive compensation are included.

Formación

• Minimum 5 Years experience in a high complexity Histology Lab including special stains, Immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, and/or immunofluorescence. 3 Years experience required for exceptional internal candidates.
• Demonstrates autonomy, capability and capacity to lead multiple projects and assist with staffing needs under the direction of department leadership.
• Experience and high proficiency with computers required. Web based application experience, Microsoft applications including excel experience required. May be required to produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Responsabilidades

• Performs and oversees a full range of Histology tasks according to SOPs. Ensures staff follow SOPs and acts as an expert resource.
• Assist Supervisor in maintaining workflow and Histology operations; report issues to leadership as needed.
• Provides technical support, researches new workflows, uploads SOPs, and maintains area supplies; troubleshoots test systems.
• Oversees periodic QC/instrumentation review and collects monthly statistics; serves as the on-call technical lead off-shifts.
• Manages daily lab workflow, reallocates resources, and coaches Histotechnologists and Lab Support staff.
• Trains Histotechnologists I/II and Lab Support Assistants; participates in training/competency development for residents and fellows.
• Liaises between Lab Support Services and technical departments; ensures timely communications with external clients.
• Provides leadership in absence of supervisors; participates in committees and performance evaluations; addresses personnel issues with Clinical Manager.
