Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Histology leader to oversee high‑complexity lab operations, guide staff, and ensure QC standards are met. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to patient care.

You will train Histotechnologists and Lab Support staff, optimize workflows, and serve as a subject‑matter expert. Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills are essential for this on‑site leadership role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a high complexity Histology Lab with special stains, IHC, EM, or IF.
• Autonomy to lead multiple projects and assist staffing under leadership.
• Proficient with computers; web-based apps, Microsoft Office including Excel; ability to create complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases.

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees full range of Histology tasks per SOPs; acts as expert resource.
• Assist Supervisor to maintain workflow and operations; report issues to supervisors/managers as needed.
• Provide technical support; research new workflows; conduct instrument evaluations; write SOPs; maintain supplies.
