Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a senior transportation engineer to lead drainage, hydraulics, and stormwater designs for highway and transportation projects. You will guide technical teams across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulations and client goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil/transportation or structural engineering; PE license preferred.
10 years of related experience; travel may be required.
Strong background in drainage, hydraulics, stormwater design and regulatory compliance.
Experience with MDOT/local agency projects and design staff management.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, analysis, and design of drainage, hydraulic, and stormwater systems for transportation infrastructure.
Oversee large-scale projects from preliminary through final design while meeting client objectives and schedules.
Prepare drainage reports, NPDES permits, and hydraulic studies.
Model hydraulics using HEC-RAS, GeoHEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WinTR-55, HydroCAD, PondPack.
Sign and seal engineering documents and provide final design approvals.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support business development.
