Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. is seeking a senior transportation hydraulics and drainage engineer to lead bridge hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources analyses for transportation projects.

You will oversee design efforts, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support DOT clients through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases. The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of related experience, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• . Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• . Professional engineer (PE) license.
• . 10 years of related experience.
• . Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• . Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• . Lead hydraulic and hydrologic analyses supporting bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.
• . Perform floodplain, scour, watershed, culvert, and bridge opening evaluations.
• . Develop roadway drainage systems including storm sewer networks and detention facilities.
• . Prepare drainage and hydraulic reports, FEMA analyses, and watershed evaluations.
• . Conduct stormwater management and erosion/sediment control design.
• . Coordinate hydraulic design with other disciplines.
• . Sign and seal engineering documents as required.
• . Mentor junior engineers and designers.
