Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to lead complex civil, environmental, or mechanical design projects. You will manage site layouts, drainage, hydraulics, and storage solutions while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

You will review designs, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with sales teams on proposals and RFPs. Domestic and international travel may be required as workload dictates, with opportunities to publish technical papers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 7 years of related engineering experience and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex engineering designs including site layout, grading, hydraulics, and drainage.
• Review drafts for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with sales to develop proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Attend conferences and communicate design findings through papers.
