Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a transportation design leader to develop and oversee drainage, hydraulic, hydrologic, and stormwater systems for highway and infrastructure projects. You will manage projects from preliminary engineering through final design, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while mentoring junior staff.

Travel may be required; PE licensure and a strong background in drainage analysis are essential for delivering world-class solutions across the country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering; PE license required.
• 10 years of related experience; travel may be required depending on duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage, hydraulic, hydrologic, and stormwater design for transportation projects.
• Develop and oversee large-scale projects from preliminary through final design.
• Prepare drainage reports, permit submissions, and related documentation.
• Perform hydraulic/hydrologic modeling with industry-standard software.
• Review designs for compliance with regulations and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development, proposals, and client interviews.
