Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Highway/Roads Engineer to lead the detailed development of urban roadway design projects, perform QA on major transportation programs, and act as a technical expert on complex problems.

You will coordinate with clients, manage project elements, supervise staff, and contribute to our employee-owned culture. A PE license and 10+ years in roadway design are required, with MicroStation/InRoads/MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
• Requires PE or P.Eng license recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience includes urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, and transportation planning.
• Coordination of survey, grading, drainage and utilities; CAD base alignment familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical role in detailed development of urban roadway design projects.
• Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highways.
• Interact with clients as needed and assume some project management duties.
• Supervise medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as required.
• Contribute to HDR's employee-owned culture and participate actively.
