Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Highway/Roads Engineer in Virginia. You will lead detailed urban roadway design, perform quality checks on major projects, and serve as a technical expert in complex transportation challenges.

The role includes some project management and client interaction, plus supervising staff. Required are a Bachelor's degree, a PE license, and 10+ years in roadway engineering with urban/rural experience; MSCE or InRoads familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT with PE eligibility.
• 10+ years experience in roadway engineering design.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges and traffic planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical role in detailed development of urban roadway design projects.
• Perform QA checks on major transportation projects.
• Act as a technical expert resolving complex problems.
• Possess project management duties and client interaction.
• Supervise medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed.
