Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer in Austin, TX, to lead the detailed development of urban and rural roadway design projects. You will perform QA checks on major transportation projects for interstates, highways, and interchanges and act as a technical expert resolving complex issues.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of roadway design experience, and strong leadership skills to manage teams and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license (US) or equivalent
• 10+ years of roadway design experience
• Experience with urban arterials, rural highways, interchanges
• TxDOT PS&E or schematic project experience preferred
• Leadership and project management skills desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed development of urban and rural roadway design projects.
• Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects.
• Act as technical expert in area of specialization.
• Take on project management duties and client interaction.
• Supervise staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
• Coordinate with subconsultants and manage schedule/budget.
• Prepare reports and technical memos.
