Job summary

H.O. Penn Machinery, the Caterpillar dealer for New York and Connecticut, seeks a Generator Field Service Supervisor in Poughkeepsie, NY to lead our EPG technicians. This hands-on role handles scheduling, coordination, and ensuring high-quality service for customers.

You will mentor staff, emphasize safety and productivity, and collaborate with service, sales, & product teams to grow offerings and profitability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electric power generation, generator service, diesel engines, heavy equipment, or related field service environment.
• Leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience with responsibility for directing and developing technicians.
• Strong technical understanding of generator systems, diesel engines, electrical components, controls, and diagnostic/troubleshooting processes.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch EPG field technicians based on customer needs, capabilities, priorities and resources.
• Coordinate people, parts, tooling, materials, equipment, and information to complete field service work.
• Monitor jobs from scheduling through completion to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance to technicians and remove obstacles to job completion.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams on scope, status, and changes.
