Job summary

University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Food Service Worker III to prepare and serve food in Campus Dining Services. The role emphasizes proper food handling, maintaining a clean work area, and delivering high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include setting up service areas, training junior staff, and assisting in ongoing department improvements. A ServSafe certification is desirable and growth opportunities exist within a structured university dining program.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, and basic math required.
• Knowledge of food prep, knife skills, and sanitation methods; culinary skills demonstration may be part of interview.
• Customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification desirable or can be acquired within six months of hire.
• One year of experience in food prep and service in institutional or commercial facility is required.
• Ability to handle and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to instructions and food handling techniques.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area.
• Set up service/preparation areas and replenish during service.
• Provide high-quality service to customers and meet customer service objectives.
• Direct, help train, and assist Snack Bar Attendant, FSW II, FSW I, and student employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
