Job summary

University of Missouri - Columbia is seeking a Food Service Worker I for Campus Dining Services. The role involves basic food preparation, serving, and sanitation duties with a focus on maintaining safe, clean working environments.

Shifts run 12:30–9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work. ServSafe certification is preferred, and the position offers comprehensive university benefits. Employment is contingent on a physical exam.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Good physical health.
• Some knowledge of and experience in basic food preparation, service, and/or sanitation methods and a desire to provide high-quality customer service are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• This position includes basic food preparation, service, and sanitation tasks.
• Prepare food according to instructions.
• Follow proper food handling techniques.
• Assist in completing the Serving Line Worksheets.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area.
• Set up service/preparation areas as assigned.
• Direct, help train, and assist student employees in food preparation and service.
• Clean and replenish the service/preparation areas, dining room, and dishwashing/pot-and pan areas during and after service.
• Complete required training.
• Help the department constantly improve and reach its vision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
