Job summary

University of Missouri - Columbia Campus Dining Services is seeking a Food Service Worker I to assist with basic food preparation, service, and sanitation. You will follow instructions, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and provide high-quality customer service in a dynamic dining environment.

Hours vary and are set by the manager. Internal staff can learn and perform dishwashing, prep, and service tasks while training student employees and ensuring a positive dining experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen utensils and supplies (e.g. 40 pounds).
• Good physical health.
• Some knowledge of and experience in basic food preparation, service, and sanitation methods; strong customer service desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to instructions and maintain a clean, sanitary area.
• Provide high-quality customer service and support department goals.
• Direct and assist student employees in food preparation, service, and sanitation.
• Set up service and preparation areas, dishwashing and pot-and-pan stations.
• Assist in keeping dining areas clean and safe during service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
