Job summary

University of Missouri-Columbia Campus Dining Services is seeking a Food Service Worker III to prepare meals, follow safety procedures, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment. You will set up service areas, replenish supplies, and provide high-quality service to students and staff.

You will supervise and assist Snack Bar Attendant and student employees, participate in training, and contribute to the department’s commitment to excellence and people.

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement: completion of eighth grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of food preparation, including knife skills, and sanitation methods.
• Culinary skills demonstration required during interview.
• Customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification desirable or obtainable within approximately six months of hire.
• One year of experience in the preparation and service of food in an institutional or commercial food service facility.
• Ability to handle and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to instructions and proper handling techniques.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area.
• Set up service/preparation areas and replenish during service.
• Provide high-quality service to customers.
• Direct and assist Snack Bar Attendant, FSW II, FSW I, and student employees in food preparation.
• Help the department reach its vision and commitment to excellence and people.
