Job summary

Aramark in Charleston, WV is seeking a Food Service Worker supervisor to oversee inmate workers in a correctional kitchen. You will train staff, coordinate duties, and ensure sanitation and safety according to production plans.

The role requires strong leadership, food prep experience, and the ability to adhere to security and safety protocols in a correctional environment. Compensation starts at $17+ per hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum 1 year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and adhere to safety policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to preparation and production guidelines per Aramark standards.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes; train on proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and accommodations for dietary requirements.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies; keep storage areas locked and secure.
• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are secured and returned.
• Set work and sanitation schedules; ensure adherence by cooks and inmates.
• Assist in inventory, proper receiving and storing of food/items; requisition orders.
• Contribute to 5 P's: Participation, Pulls, Production, Portion Control, Postproduction.
• Follow SOP for food handling and HACCP procedures.
