Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a kitchen, train staff, and coordinate work to maintain efficient operations aligned with production plans.

You will ensure sanitation and safety, follow HACCP rules, and adapt responsibilities to client needs. A background check is required and candidates must be comfortable in a correctional facility.

Compensation starts at $16.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits; there is no fixed application window.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• One year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with inmates is a plus.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and tact.
• Must follow basic safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain production guidelines by reviewing logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Direct inmates in use of Aramark recipes and train on procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are fulfilled.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies and ensure stored areas are locked.
• Direct kitchen tools and equipment to designated areas and secure them.
• Determine work procedures, schedules and sanitation plans for cooks and workers.
• Assist in inventory, receiving, and storing food and related items.
• Participate in preparation/5 P's, storage and assembly of meals.
• Follow HACCP policies for proper food handling.
