Job summary

Aramark in a correctional kitchen environment seeks a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates, train staff, and coordinate meal production according to plans. You will ensure sanitation and personal safety while meeting client requirements and Aramark standards.

This role requires prior food service experience and preferred corrections background; shifts at 2 AM–10 AM and 10 AM–6 PM, 7 days a week; pay starts at $17 per hour with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production.
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to follow basic safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review production and temperature logs to ensure compliance with Aramark standards.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely meal service and adherence to all Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in the use of Aramark recipes and train on proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are fulfilled.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies; ensure storage areas are locked at all times.
• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are returned to their secure area; secure all keys.
• Determine work procedures and sanitation schedules; manage cooks/inmates/docs to schedules.
• Assist in inventory, proper receipt and storage of food items; requisition orders as needed.
• Participate in production and postproduction processes; storage and assembly of meals.
