Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Monmouth, IL is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead frontline operations and ensure safety and quality across shifts. You will supervise hourly staff, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with operations management to meet targets.

You will train and mentor teams, enforce USDA standards, and optimize yields and efficiency while controlling costs. This role requires strong leadership and willingness to work long hours, including weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring staff.
• Strong communication skills and problem-solving for complex process issues.
• Motivates and coaches employees to peak performance in a positive environment.
• Willing to work long hours, weekends, and in varying temperature conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-line production staff to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
• Perform daily safety checks, drive audits, and enforce HACCP/USDA standards.
• Track yields and efficiencies, analyze variances, and improve workflows.
• Provide training and coaching, and run monthly line meetings.
• Maintain equipment setup and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
