Job summary

North Texas Fleet Services is seeking a Lead Shop Technician to join our on-site fleet maintenance team in the Dallas area. You will perform preventive maintenance, fuel up and inspect fleet vehicles at customer locations, and communicate recommended repairs with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive or fleet maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience servicing commercial or fleet vehicles.
• Familiarity with fleet maintenance reporting systems.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles at customer locations.
• Conduct oil and filter changes, lubrication services, fluid checks, inspections, and other routine maintenance.
• Inspect vehicles for potential safety and mechanical issues and communicate recommended repairs.
• Perform basic diagnostic and repair services as qualified.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and customer documentation.
• Build strong relationships with fleet customers through professional and dependable service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked mobile service vehicle.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT and workplace regulations.
• Manage daily service appointments and communicate professionally with customers.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and according to company standards.
