Job summary

Smurfit WestRock is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide technical assistance to customers in installation and maintenance of packaging machinery across the Pacific Northwest. You will perform audits, planned maintenance and other requested services, troubleshoot issues, and relay field knowledge to Service Management, Engineering and Sales.

The ideal candidate will reside in the Portland, OR or Seattle, WA area, travel about 70% to customer sites, and lead or assist in training junior

Qualifications

• Technical degree is a plus but not required.
• Previous field service work is required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel (~70%) and work nonstandard hours.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Smurfit WestRock Packaging Machinery.
• Lead others in installation/servicing as needed.
• Provide on-site audits and preventive maintenance.
• Prepare and submit service and expense reports.
• Train operators and junior technicians.
