K Group Companies in Burnsville, MN seeks a Field Service Technician II to lead installation teams, configure and commission systems, and train customers at a basic operations level. You will work on nurse call, card access, and video surveillance projects across varied environments, with a focus on leadership and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on field experience, electronics knowledge, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade.
• Advance knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP, etc.).
• Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
• Working knowledge of IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Previous experience completing projects within scope.
• Previous experience with service ticketing processes.
• 1+ year of knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute Level I installer roles per documented standards.
• Maintain organization of project/service tickets with timely updates.
• Understand project scopes and deliver tasks responsibly.
• Delegate tasks within the team to foster growth and productivity.
• Mentor Level 1 installers when leading a team and gather feedback for improvement.
• Communicate with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers.
• Work with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems on projects.
• Pursue leadership development and communication skills growth.
• Perform FAT tests to ensure quality before installation.
• Configure systems and commission them for reliable operation.
• Willingly accept additional duties as needed.
