Job summary

K Group Companies in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Field Service Technician II to join our team. The role involves advanced installation work, leading teams, configuring devices, and delivering customer training at a basic operations level.

You will conduct FAT testing, commission systems, and ensure high standards of service while supporting project delivery and client satisfaction across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a construction trade.
• Advanced knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP, etc.).
• Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
• Working knowledge of IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Experience with service ticketing processes.
• 1+ year knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Execute Level I installer duties and follow documentation to uphold standards.
• Manage project/service tickets with organization and timely updates.
• Understand project scopes and service expectations; take accountability for tasks.
• Lead, delegate tasks, and foster collaboration within the team.
• Mentor Level 1 installers and solicit feedback for improvement.
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, PMs, and customers.
• Work with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems on projects.
• Pursue ongoing professional development, especially leadership and communication.
• Perform FAT testing and system commissioning to ensure quality.
• Configure systems and deliver clients reliable, ready-to-use solutions.
