Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a skilled Rigger for field operations in Coppell, TX. You will set up, assemble, or disassemble rigging, select proper gear, and secure machinery for relocation while following strict safety protocols.

Expect to use hand and power tools, read blueprints, and communicate clearly with a hoisting crew. The role may involve driving a commercial vehicle, welding or fabrication tasks, and supportive duties in warehouse areas when not rigging.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Follow directions and work safely in a team.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or manuals as required.
• Familiar with rigging signals and safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect rigging materials for safety and reliability.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment.
• Attach loads to rigging using hand/power tools and secure equipment.
• Select gear such as cables, pulleys, winches based on load.
• Maintain awareness of obstacles and nearby personnel.
• Signal or communicate with hoisting crew to ensure safety.
• Manipulate rigging lines and hoists to move heavy loads.
• Control movement through tight spaces using appropriate gear.
• Multi-point suspension techniques for maneuvering loads.
• Install ground rigging for yarding lines with chokers/logs.
• Assist in fabrication, setup, and repair of rigging equipment.
• Attach pulleys/blocks to overhead structures with bolts/clamps.
• Dismantle, clean, and store rigging equipment after use.
• Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment as needed.
