Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is expanding its civil construction team and seeks a Lead Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for self-perform heavy civil projects. The role emphasizes thorough quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, risk assessment, and collaboration with field and office teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering and experience with federal projects is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is required.
• Field experience in self-perform contracting of civil infrastructure scopes (earthwork, utilities, dewatering, road work).
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size, scope, and mix.
• Provide quantity takeoffs and detailed materials lists to assess total construction costs.
• Source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best value.
• Identify risks and develop plans to address them.
• Collaborate with field and office professionals during estimate preparation.
• Meet milestones for constructability and productivity reviews to meet submission deadlines.
• Vet subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
• Interact with operations post-award to discuss alternates and site conditions.
