Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Lead Operator to safely run heavy and stationary equipment at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station. You will supervise Operators, inspect gear, track metrics, and coordinate daily production to meet schedules.

You will mentor staff, ensure safety compliance, and report issues to maintenance. A strong emphasis on teamwork and adhering to company policies is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Requires supervisory or lead operator experience at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Three years of equipment operation experience.
• Valid certificates/training and licenses to operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment at shift start and during shifts; complete reports.
• Safely operate and monitor heavy and stationary equipment.
• Estimate hour requirements from daily production schedules.
• Direct and train staff; assign duties and coordinate departments.
• Ensure shop cleanliness and proper service/maintenance post-shift.
