Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Lead Engineer to train and lead process improvements, develop programs for the Engineering Team, and ensure compliance with PHMSA, FERC, DOT and related codes.

You will design natural gas pipeline projects, lead meetings, review designs, manage permits, and mentor staff across the enterprise, with a hybrid work arrangement in DE, PA, OH, MD or FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Twelve (12) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Valid Driver's license.
• PE license with related certifications (PM, NACE, API, GTI, etc.).
• Understanding of engineering principles, construction, maintenance and operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to review engineering plans and permit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of pipeline, station and specialty projects (LNG, RNG, compressors).
• Provide expert guidance on PHMSA, FERC, DOT code changes.
• Develop and lead training for all levels of engineering.
• Identify and implement process improvements for the engineering team.
• Perform technical reviews of engineering designs for project complexity.
• Develop calculations, equipment specs, requisitions, sketches and drawings.
• Review quotes, specify and order pipe, valves and equipment.
• Manage federal/state/local permitting requirements and status.
• Lead engineering meetings with internal stakeholders.
• Prepare project proposals and review contractor bids.
• Develop scoping documents and lead external stakeholder meetings.
• Review other engineering designs for accuracy.
• Assist with training materials and department process enhancements.
