Job summary
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineer hybrid in the US (MD preferred) to lead the engineering team, develop training programs, and drive process improvements across gas pipeline and station projects.
The role emphasizes expert compliance with PHMSA, FERC, and DOT codes, plus strong drafting, permitting, and stakeholder coordination capabilities. A PE license and broad industry experience are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
- PE license or equivalent certification is required or highly preferred.
- 12 years of experience in a similar capacity with leadership exposure.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, permits and codes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and train the Engineering Team, develop training programs.
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
- Provide expert advice on PHMSA / FERC / DOT codes and updates.
- Develop design plans for gas pipeline, stations and related projects.
- Review engineering plans and permit requirements for projects.
- Develop specs, calculations, requisitions, sketches and drawings.
- Lead internal and external stakeholder engineering meetings.
- Support department training and process enhancements.
