Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineer for a hybrid role supporting DE, PA, OH, MD or FL regions with 10-20% travel. The role leads training, process improvements, and engineering policy development, ensuring compliance with PHMSA, FERC, and DOT codes.

Responsibilities include designing pipeline and station projects, reviewing plans, and mentoring the engineering team. Requires PE license and 12 years of experience, plus strong communication and independent work skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 12 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Valid driver's license.
• PE license and related certifications (e.g., PMI, NACE, API) preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction and operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and in diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage natural gas pipeline, station and specialty projects.
• Provide expert guidance on PHMSA, FERC, DOT codes and regulatory changes.
• Develop and lead training programs for the engineering team.
• Identify and implement process improvements for the engineering function.
• Review engineering designs and perform technical reviews of plans.
