Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineer to train the Engineering Team, drive process improvements and ensure compliance with PHMSA, FERC, and DOT standards. You will develop training programs, review complex designs, and lead stakeholder meetings while advancing department efficiency and policy development.

The role requires a PE license, 12 years of experience, and a strong command of safety codes, plus proficiency in MS Office and independent work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 12 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Valid driver's license.
• PE license and related certifications listed in the ad.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and gas industry codes.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to review plans and permits.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage natural gas pipeline, station, and related projects.
• Provide expert advice on PHMSA, FERC, and DOT requirements.
• Develop and lead training programs for the engineering team.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Perform technical reviews of designs and calculations.
• Develop equipment specs, requisitions, and drawings.
• Oversee permitting at federal, state, and local levels.
• Lead internal and external stakeholder meetings.
• Contribute to project proposals and contractor reviews.
• Assist with department training materials and process enhancements.
