Job summary

Extend, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Manager for Servicing & Fulfillment. Remote, US.

You will coach a team of engineers, set architecture for event‑driven, service‑oriented systems, and partner with Product, Design, and Operations to shape the roadmap for claim servicing and fulfillment. Lead end‑to‑end delivery using Agile and an AI‑native SDLC, drive operational excellence, and champion AI‑driven improvements across post‑purchase workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience in high‑volume domains.
• 3+ years in Engineering Leadership managing engineers and delivery.
• Deep understanding of microservices, event‑driven architectures, reliability and observability.
• Experience with cloud‑native/serverless and AWS ecosystem (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kafka, CDK).
• Ability to partner with Product/Design/Operations to define roadmaps and ship features.
• Track record building and leading high‑performing engineering teams.
• Experience using AI/LLM tools within engineering teams for operations and workflows.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration with Operations, Merchant Success, Risk/Fraud.
• Excellent communication to translate tech tradeoffs to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience fostering quality culture with testing, CI/CD, on‑call, SLOs in money/shipping domains.

Responsibilities

• Actively coach and mentor a team of engineers with development plans and regular 1:1s.
• Provide architectural guidance for event‑driven, service‑oriented systems powering claims and fulfillment.
• Partner with Product, Designers, and Operations to define roadmaps and translate requirements.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of complex features using Agile methods and an AI‑native SDLC.
• Foster a high‑trust culture, encourage ownership, and ensure reliability of post‑purchase flows.
• Drive AI adoption across the team, partnering to deliver AI‑native product capabilities.
• Set operational standards including on‑call, incident response, monitoring, and automated testing.
• Continuously improve engineering workflows to increase velocity and quality.
• Communicate timelines, risks, and capacity to leadership and cross‑functional partners.
