Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade MV/LV power systems for industrial clients. You will lead projects from concept through commissioning, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multi-discipline teams.

Applicants should have 3+ years in electrical power systems, strong SKM/ETAP/EasyPower experience, and a solid grasp of NEC/NFPA 70E/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum of 3 years in electrical power systems engineering (industrial/utility/consulting).
• Experience designing/modifying MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV distribution systems.
• Hands-on modeling in SKM, ETAP, EasyPower or equivalent.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards for industrial power systems.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, protection/control schematics, and vendor drawings.
• Strong technical writing; clear study and field reports.
• Willingness to travel to project sites (~10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead power system analysis and studies, including load flow and short-circuit studies.
• Develop and review electrical design deliverables (diagrams, schematics, wiring plans).
• Write specifications for medium- and low-voltage equipment and assist procurement.
• Provide field/construction support, RFIs, and commissioning activities.
• Lead electrical scope on projects and mentor junior engineers.
