Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer in Houston to lead the design of complex electrical/Instrumentation systems.

The role requires 6+ years of industrial experience, a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, and PE registration is highly preferred. You will develop equipment specifications, load calculations, and installation details, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineering registration highly preferred or may be required.
• 6+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
• Knowledge and application of the current version of the NEC.
• Ability to lead a small team to deliver on commitments.
• Proficiency with CAD drafting standards and reviewing vendor drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design tasks on electrical and instrumentation projects.
• Produce 15kV/5kV equipment specifications.
• Produce electrical installation specifications.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Develop estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Check calculations for accuracy and conformance to codes.
• Provide guidance to less experienced drafting and engineering personnel.
• Coordinate with discipline leads and other teams on project delivery.
