Job summary

Comfort Systems USA is seeking an experienced Foreman Electrician to lead a crew on commercial and industrial electrical projects in Charlottesville, VA. The role involves mentoring Journeymen, Apprentices and Helpers, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to NEC guidelines.

You will develop manpower schedules, prepare material lists, and oversee field layout, wiring, and device termination. Strong leadership and blueprint-reading skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and coach a crew of five Helpers, Apprentices, and Journeyman.
• Solid understanding of a small, defined scope of work.
• Communicate across trades and negotiate work assignments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, project specs, and schematics.
• Familiar with construction schedules and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to learn BlueBeam/Navisworks.
• Leadership training participation encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
• Work alongside their crew and ensure quality of work to the highest standards.
• Assist in the development of an effective manpower schedule for their team.
• Develop material lists from layouts, area prints, and job site demands and communicate lists to supervision.
• Help achieve production and budget goals by understanding tasks and communicating them to the team.
• Ensure all work done by crew complies with local and NEC guidelines.
• Independently measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, and feeders.
• Read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics; perform field layout.
