WHOOP is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the hardware team in Boston, driving electrical system characterization, experiments, and design improvements across power, mixed-signal circuits, sensing, and timing. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience with ownership of complex electrical or embedded systems.
• Deep fundamentals across mixed-signal design, power management, digital interfaces, signal integrity, and debugging.
• Hands-on test, characterization, and debugging skills driven by data to improve designs.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using Altium or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system characterization and investigations across power, mixed-signal circuitry, digital interfaces, sensing, noise, timing, and other areas.
• Define and execute experiments to answer engineering questions, isolate variables, and identify root causes.
• Translate results into actionable architecture, schematic, layout, firmware, and system-level design improvements.
• Drive resolution of complex electrical and cross-functional issues using first-principles analysis and bench measurements.
• Build scalable characterization methods using Python, MATLAB, or equivalents to improve test coverage and analytics.
• Partner with Electrical, Firmware, Mechanical, Systems, Software, and Manufacturing teams to define requirements and improve end-to-end performance.
• Manage and develop a small team of engineers with mentorship and clear ownership.
• Remain hands-on with schematic/circuit design, bring-up, debugging, and design iteration.
• Establish validation approaches and criteria for performance across operating conditions and variation.
• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
