Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to design electrical power systems for municipal water and wastewater projects. The role supports the South Region of our Resilience Water Business, with leadership responsibilities across design, fieldwork, and client engagement in the East/Mid-Atlantic area.

The candidate will lead teams, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards while using ETAP/SKM tools for power system studies and arc-flash analysis.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and a PE license in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, technical knowledge, and guidance to electrical staff through mentoring and reviews.
• Manage project budgets and delivery schedules.
• Balance team workload across multiple assignments to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Support business development; prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets for new projects.
• Coordinate with Control Systems and Process Mechanical groups within multi-discipline teams.
• Establish design criteria, perform calculations, develop diagrams, and serve as Engineer of Record.
• Conduct field inspections and oversee projects in construction.
• Publish power systems studies with arc flash analysis using ETAP/SKM.
• Collaborate with leadership; participate in conferences and knowledge sharing.
• Travel up to 25% for site visits and meetings.
