Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical power system design for municipal water/wastewater projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. The role involves mentoring staff, coordinating with multi-discipline teams, and delivering designs with NFPA standards in mind.

The position requires a PE license (Florida) and at least 12 years of experience, with travel up to 25% for site visits and client meetings. Competitive benefits and a salary range of $155,000–$185,000 are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Florida PE license required.
• Ability to mentor and manage junior staff across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and coordination for medium/low voltage power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding.
• Provide leadership and engineering guidance through reviews and mentorship.
• Manage project budgets and delivery schedules; balance team workloads.
• Support business development with scopes, schedules, and budgets for new projects.
• Collaborate with Control Systems and Process Mechanical groups on multi-discipline teams.
• Develop design criteria, one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specs.
• Conduct field inspections and oversee construction, addressing deviations.
• Perform system analysis using ETAP/SKM and publish power system studies with arc flash analysis.
• Travel up to 25% for site visits, client meetings, and audits.
