Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Lead Electrical & Controls engineer to support MWIS project execution and design the control/automation strategy for water treatment systems, including PLC programming and electrical drawings.

You will collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, provide commissioning support, and manage budgets and schedules while maintaining safety and NEC/UL compliance. Domestic travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.
• 5 years of experience in design of industrial water treatment systems.
• Proficiency with PLC/SCADA platforms (Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc, Siemens) and HMI systems.
• Familiarity with NEC and UL508A.
• Experience with P&ID, instrument lists, and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial water treatment processes (UF, clarification, RO, ion exchange, EDI).
• Understanding of motor, LV, MV power distribution designs.
• Familiar with Google Tools, MS Office, SAP; ability to learn new software.
• Willingness to travel ~25% and reside near major airport.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and validation of electrical, control, and instrumentation for MWIS projects.
• Develop control narratives, PLC logic, and panel schematics.
• Create single-line diagrams, I/O lists, and network architecture.
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering and Service teams.
• Monitor budget, scope, and project schedule; report risks.
